2016 Census

Don’t miss the count on August 9

On August 9, everyone in Australia has the opportunity to pause and make a difference to the nation’s future.

More than 15 million people are expected to complete the Census online in 2016 – making it quicker, easier and cheaper for those able to participate. But not everyone is able to access online forms.

If you would prefer to complete a paper form, refer to the directions provided on your households’ Census Letter and call the automated paper form request service on 1300 820 275

Don’t worry if you’re unable to complete the census on the due date – you will be able to return it soon after, as long as you provide details that were correct on the day of the 9th.

For households who haven’t been able to complete it, a field officer will pay a visit to your household later in August. They can assist you to fill the census out. Census field workers will carry identification and a yellow satchel.
