Aged Care options
My Aged Care is a national online and phone service to help you find out about aged care services, and what services may be available to help you.
There are different types of aged care services to support you, whatever your needs. When you call the My Aged Care contact centre, the staff will ask questions to help understand your needs. They can help you find out if you are eligible for aged care services.

My Aged Care will provide information about Home Care Packages, Home Support and Residential Aged Care services that are subsidised by the Government (but also generally require a user contribution).
There are also other options you may wish to consider:
- Home Share – matching a homesharer with a householder for mutual support homeshare.org.au
- Private options – search on line for home care or aged care services.
- Low cost housing – search the COTA Victoria accommodation directory
Fees and charges
There will be costs associated with most aged care services and the calculation of fees and charges is quite a complex matter. There is information about fees for the various services on My Aged Care and a place where you can estimate your fees. It is recommended that you seek financial advice before making a choice. You can also contact the Department of Human Services free Financial Information Service 132 300.

Choosing Residential Care
The Aged Care Quality Agency checks the quality of residential aged care services and you can access the accreditation reports at www.aacqa.gov.au/publications/reports
There are comparator sites available but use these with caution as they may be funded by the providers and may also not list all of the options in your area.
