COTA has received funding from the State Trustee Australia Foundation to help gain a better understanding of your needs and what you do to have a ‘good life’. This is in response to the recent Aged Care reforms and to ensure you have real choice and control in the services you use.
We are focusing on four communities:
- LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and/or intersex)
- people from CALD (cultural and linguistically diverse) communities
- older people living in a rural and/or regional setting.
This is not a research project but about creating solutions for you, with you. We believe people (not politicians and professionals) have the knowledge, through life experiences, of what is needed to make things happen.
We want to understand what you need from services to make your lives more liveable. These could be services you already use through the Aged Care system, or other services helping you remain independent and living in your home. This is a co-design project focusing on creating solutions for people, with the people that are the targets of the solution.
We can chat with you in any setting of your choice – your home, community centre, a café, or even the local park. We will then organise a ‘co-creation’ session to test our solution ideas. You will be invited to this session but are under no obligation to attend.
If you are interested in participating, or have any questions, please contact Sharon Granek, Manager – Community Engagement.
