The Victorian State Election is on Saturday 24 November.
All Australia citizens living in Victoria aged 18 and over must enrol and vote.
The deadline to enrol in your State Electorate roll has now closed.
Once voting opens, you can enrol and vote on the spot at a voting centre. It may take longer to enrol and vote, so please allow extra time.
Proof of identity will be required, with one of the following accepted:
A driver’s licence
An Australian passport
A council rates notice in your name
Your citizenship number
An electricity bill in your name for your current home address.
Please make sure you have a valid proof of identity, as voting is compulsory for everyone and if you fail to vote, you may receive a fine.
There are three ways to make sure your vote is in.
- Early Voting
From Monday 12 November to Friday 23 November, early voting Centre’s will be open. To find out which Centre’s are open early head to the VEC website.
- Vote by Post
If will not be in Victoria to place a vote in person, you will need to arrange for a postal vote. Applications for postal votes are now open and close at 6:00pm, Wednesday 21 November.

- Vote on Election Day
You can vote at any designated voting Centre in Victoria on Election Day, Saturday 24 November.
