Do you have a beautiful green space? Do you know a talented gardener?

This time of year our gardens, parks, balconies and streets are an array of foliage and colour, giving evidence of Victoria’s right to claim the name, ‘The Garden State’.

In appreciation of the talented green thumbs in our communities, the Victoria in Bloom garden competition is open for entries.

Victoria in Bloom provides recognition for the talent and hard work of tenants in public or community housing, who create and maintain attractive gardens in their communities and neighbourhoods.

All types of gardens are worthy of entry, from creative gardens to community and common garden areas – no garden is too big or too small. The competition is inclusive of all age groups and tenants from all over Victoria. There are nine award categories and each entrant can enter in up to two of these.

The categories include: Best Balcony or Container Garden, Best Small Enclosed Garden, Best Young Gardener (Under 25), Best Household Garden, Best Sustainable Garden, Best Community or Common Area Garden, Best Edible Garden, Best Creative Garden and Best First Year Entered Garden.

Entries close on Friday 30 November.
