US-based Human Rights Watch researcher, Bethany Brown will speak briefly at COTA Victoria’s next event linked with the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, on 28 March. Bethany is doing an international research and advocacy project for older people’s rights in aged care facilities.
Human Rights Watch is seeking to connect with older individuals who could share their direct experiences with chemical restraints in aged care. Bethany has also said she is interested in talking with family members or chosen caregivers who can talk about direct experiences. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
While Bethany will be available at the end of the March submission writing workshop, people interested are also welcome to organise a time to talk to her confidentially, by emailing her at email@example.com
The COTA event ‘How to Write a Submission’ is a free workshop organised following many requests at the royal commission information session COTA Victoria hosted last month. Registrations are essential and can be made here.
