Invisible? Is that how you feel?
COTA Victoria is conducting research into older people’s experience of invisibility. Accepting her award as Australian of the Year this Australia Day, Ita Buttrose put her finger on an all-too common situation facing older people when she said that a lot of older people felt they had lost their voice and that “they feel like they don’t have an opinion, they are not respected, they are invisible”.
COTA Victoria would like to hear from you about your experiences of feeling invisible.
This could be something you experience when you try to get served in a shop, or find that people literally do not seem to see you. We plan to hold a focus group and conduct some short interviews between March and April.
If you would like to be involved in this research or to find out more, please contact
