COTA Victoria has a strong interest in the health of Victorians over 50 and recognises cancer as one of the biggest health concerns among older people. The new Victorian Cancer Plan 2024-2028 is a key opportunity to ensure optimal outcomes and positive health experiences for older Victorians.
In presenting this document, COTA Victoria has provided a select list of funding initiatives that warrant serious consideration across Victorian Government portfolios. We have focussed on five priority areas that require support in the 2024/25 Victorian State Budget. We see these as the key pillars
Older people, including older people with a disability, are a key cohort that will be supported by the draft Transport Accessibility Strategy. This is essential, with Victoria getting older, and older Victorians accounting for a significant proportion of the population that have a disability.
