What a year it has been. I’m sure many of you, like me, are looking forward to a fresh start in 2021. After all we have learned this year, we will be better equipped to deal with the ongoing effects of the pandemic that will be around for a while longer yet.
It hasn’t been all doom and gloom. This year we have found new ways to work and connect with each other. Think back to January, when many of us hadn’t even heard of Zoom let alone used it to catch up with our family and friends. Look how far we have come with embracing technology. Everyone in our community, from the youngest to the oldest, has learned something new.
We will take some of these new ways of working with us into the new year. Of course, there are things I’d like to leave in 2020, such as mask-wearing. Although, they were helpful during hay fever season! I’ve also really missed meeting people in person. There’s nothing quite like face-to-face interactions.
We wish our strength and fitness program a happy birthday and welcome back the old name with a new look. This month we also celebrate our volunteers who are central to our programs.
As it is our very last newsletter for 2020, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a peaceful and happy end of year. I hope you will be able to enjoy the festive period with those dear to you however you celebrate it. For my family, we celebrate Christmas and we are so excited to be able to gather for the first time in many months. I would love for you to share how you celebrate this time of year on our Facebook.
COTA Victoria will be taking a small break to rest and reenergise ready for whatever 2021 will bring. Our office will close at 2.00 pm on Thursday 24 December and re-open at 9.30 am on Monday 4 January 2021.
You may want to grab a cup of tea before you read any further so you can enjoy all the team at COTA Victoria have for you this month.
Keep safe.
Do you know someone who might want to know what COTA Victoria is up to and would enjoy COTA Connects? Please feel free to share it with them.
