Once again, I write to you from my home. While we’re out of the office, the COTA Victoria Team are still working hard to promote opportunities and protect the rights of older Victorians.
We know the value of a friendly voice on the end of the phone – especially now, when people can’t gather with friends and family. To help tackle isolation, we’ve started phoning our members to check in. If you or someone you know would like a regular call from our friendly COTA Wise team, please call us on 1300 13 50 90 or visit our information page. Remember, too, to keep in contact with your family and friends. I personally make a point to have at least one fun phone or video chat every day.
Next week is National Volunteers Week, when we will celebrate the enormous contribution of our volunteers. Volunteers support the work COTA Victoria does across the whole organisation – from administration, to policy, to education and outreach, and everything in between. So from me and everyone at COTA Victoria, thank you for sharing with us your time, passion and wisdom over the past 12 months.
Ron Smith from our media team has penned some great tips on how to stay sane at home, and is offering his free eBook to our readers. Please enjoy some time out as you read this and our newsletter. Keep safe.
