International advocate and policy specialist Ben Rogers has been appointed CEO of COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria, its Board of Directors has today announced.

Council on the Ageing (COTA) Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria (SRV) are pleased to announce their inclusion in the Victorian Government’s Public Health and Wellbeing External Sector Advisory Group (ESAG).

COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria advises that Chris Potaris has decided to step down as Chief Executive Officer, effective 3 May 2024. In his place, the Board of Directors has unanimously appointed Ben Rogers as Interim CEO while a permanent replacement is found.

Council on the Ageing (COTA) Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria (SRV) welcome today’s draft decision on the Victorian Default Offer (VDO) by the Essential Services Commission (ESC), and the potential impact of its proposed price decrease for older Victorians. However, while the VDO is not meant to be the best available price to consumers, more needs to be done to ensure older people can access cheaper energy.
