Are you an older Victorian passionate about issues impacting you and your peers, and wanting to share your experience and knowledge with others?

Our new Lived Experience of Ageing Program (LEAP) is looking for older Victorians with wide-ranging experience in issues – or a single issue – that effect their cohort.

Have you had difficulties obtaining housing in recent times? Are you finding it difficult to secure employment because of your age? Have you experienced elder abuse at the hands of a trusted friend or family member? If so — and if you’re willing to share those experiences to help others understand these issues and work to improve them — then LEAP could be for you.

LEAP is a training and support initiative designed to help older Victorians share their lived experience and knowledge with industry, government, academia, and media. As part of the launch of our new pilot program, we’re looking to gather a small, yet extremely diverse group of older Victorians who will be able to speak across a broad variety of topics.

No matter if speaking publicly to a group of your peers, serving on a steering or working committee, or sharing your unique story with journalists is something you’re comfortable with, LEAP will empower you to speak confidently and honestly about your own experiences.
