Seniors Myki Travel Card

The Victorian Government has announced that free public transport in Victoria will be half price for all passengers until 1 January 2027. The 50% discount will apply to full fare as well as concession passengers. To learn more, head here.

Seniors Myki Travel Cards are for Victorians over 60 who hold a Seniors Card. People who have a Seniors Business Card are not eligible. When you apply for your Seniors Card, you will automatically get a Seniors Myki Travel Card.

Starting in 2026, Seniors Myki holders will be able to travel for free on all public transport, statewide, every weekend. This benefit will automatically be added to all valid Seniors Myki cards on 1 January 2026. No further action is required on the part of card holders.

The cards give you a 50% discount on public transport in Victoria, along with free travel vouchers each year. You can also get some free travel on weekends and during the Victorian Seniors Festival. To find out more, visit PTV’s website or call PTV on 1800 800 007.

Contactless payment now available

Customers travelling on a concession fare are now able to use contactless payments to tap and go, making public transport easier and more accessible in Victoria.

From 13 October 2026, concession holders can link their concession entitlement to their preferred contactless payment method, to tap and go with a discounted fare.

This means seniors, young people, carers, those on a disability support pension, war veterans or war widow(er)s can choose to use the payment option that suits them best.

How to use contactless payments

Want to tap and go with a concession fare?

  • Step 1: Tap on with your Mastercard or Visa, using a credit or debit card, phone or smartwatch
  • Step 2: Visit the Transport Victoria Contactless Portal and follow the prompts to link your concession entitlement to your payment method
  • Step 3: You’re all set to tap and go with a concession fare from the next day of travel.

If you complete steps 1 and 2 on the same day, the full fare charged will be automatically adjusted to your concession fare. Always carry your proof of concession and tap on every time you travel.
