COTA Victoria would be nothing without the people behind it, so it’s incredibly important that we shine a spotlight on Karen Ivanka, and thank her for twenty-four years of service.
Karen started with us in 2002 on what was originally a five-month contract. Since that time, her enthusiasm, energy, and willingness to adapt to the needs of older Victorians has seen her work on a variety of health and wellbeing publications and programs, appeals, and associated work in communities across the state.
Starting in 2004, Karen became the linchpin of our Peer Educator program, coordinating over 3,500 presentations that provided valuable information to older Victorians. Karen shifted to the Aged Care Navigator trial in 2019 and transitioned into a role as Team Leader inside our Care Finder program.
Karen has continually proven herself to be an invaluable resource and fount of knowledge to her colleagues; to this day, the mention of her name still brings a noticeable smile to our dedicated volunteers.
Our gratitude to Karen knows no bounds, and it’s with great pride and humility that we at COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria thank her for her dedicated service.
